Usual safari starts with picking up the cook from the market that buys fresh ingredients for your future meals. Then the group heads to Tanzanian parks as applicable in itinerary you bought. Driver is also your guide and will be your source of information about wildlife during safari. Driver arranges everything from entrance allowances as well as also puts the tent for you when you arrive in camping site.

Camping sites in all camping safaris in Tanzania have public toilets and bathrooms; cooks have their place for cooking . At the end of the day you will be able to do what ever you want. Of course if  you are camping enthusiast you are always welcome to help with pitching tents.

Breakfast and dinner on camping safari are warm cooked meals, therefore don’t worry you will be eating canned food.

Get an idea on how to save on safari to Tanzania

Let's go

Even though we cater to all budget audiences this time our post is dedicated to those who are looking for a cheap safari to Tanzania and hopefully our advice will help you to get an idea on how to save on safari to Tanzania.

Safari in Tanzania is probably once in a lifetime event for many of you and spending a fortune is not necessary in order to see big 5!

1.  Book local safari operator - there are many on-line sites offering on-line safari offers that are based outside Tanzania, most commonly in UK and USA, offering astronomic prices and actually don't have any offices in Tanzania. They hire local agencies, which means you will be over paying for Tanzanian safari as they only take huge commission for bringing the clients to third party operators.

2. Go for camping safari if you You are on a limited budget, be adventurous once in a life time, take camping safari as luxury lodges only add to the cost. Don't be afraid of camping: all our camping safaris in Tanzania are within secured campsites with all necessary facilities. In addition we provide you with new and clean tents, sleeping bags, nice camping chairs, including cook that will cook for you all meals.

1  3. Go to Tanzanian safari in low season - if you really want to save on safari to Tanzania, this tip demands a compensation: select low season when prices are lower,  you might not see wildebeest migration but you will still enjoy animals in their habitat. Going to safari in Tanzania in low season doesn't mean you will not see any of them.

   4. Choose less visited Tanzanian parks – for example, Tarangire is secret gem and once you will see it you will know what we are talking about!

    5. Join a group safari - another way to save your self few dollars is to simply contact us and join to any of available groups. Our groups are continuously available through the whole year. Another advantage of group safaris organized by Shadows of Africa is that we only allow maximum 4 people in a group. We want you to enjoy and be comfortable during your lifetime trip to Tanzania.

     6. Go for Daily safari to parks in close proximity of Arusha. If you really are on a tight, tight budget and would like to at least taste the safari experience, then go for a day trip to Tarangire National Park or Arusha National Park. One-day safari is only feasible with those two parks in Northern Circuit due to reasonable proximity.

    7. Do cheaper trips in the Kilimanjaro Area. Tanzania is beautiful and if you think you have to skip safari due to financial or any other reasons, then we have many other places to show you in Kilimanjaro region. From Kilimanjaro national park hikes, cultural visit to villages around Moshi, we can take you to waterfalls In Merangu  or Materuni or to crater lake Chala.
