Spice Tour Zanzibar

When you are on Zanzibar, it would be a sin not to take guided  spice tour on spice plantation!

Its all about tasting the flavours!

Zanzibar island offers many tour options and today we will present you a tour that is interesting, delicious and fun!

Spice tour on Zanzibar  is an opportunity for you to get familiar with Zanzibarian spices that define the culture of cooking.

If you are first time on Zanzibar, Spice tour is one of the more interesting and educating tours about Zanzibar spices, flavors and fruits.

Spices have played an important role in Zanzibari culture and history. Arabs started large spice plantations making Zanzibar the world’s biggest exporter of cloves at the time. Nowadays clove production is still present mostly on Pemba Island, and few plantations on Zanzibar grow it for purpose of tourist spice tours.

On an almost four hour guided walk through spice plantation you will see various fruits like jackfruit, breadfruit, pineapples, passion fruit, durian, aloe Vera, bananas and coconuts, henna bushes as well as wide range of aromatic plants like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, nutmeg, ginger, lemon grass, Saffron and clove – the signature spice of Zanzibar.
It was really informative and interesting to learn about how each spice grows, is harvested and later used. In addition, everything you will see on Zanzibar Spice Tour you will have a chance to taste or smell.
