Visit to Hadzabe Tribe in Tanzania

Brief photo report form cultural safari tour to Hadzabe Tribe in Lake Eyasi Region

During safari in Tanzania you can add some cultural adventure to your trip by visiting authentic Hadzabe tribe.

Our visit was educational, interesting and unforgettable.

Guide took us to remote area somewhere in Lake Eyasi region where we met the chef of hadzabe tribe and the rest of community of women and children.

Since it was lunch time they Hadzabe men were  preparing grilled dik dik - small antelope while women were resting in shadows of the bush and were occupied with children.

After the lunch, we tried to shoot with the bow and have to admit it, its not easy! they also showed us how to set fire in old fashioned way, without lighter or matches! We still have few blisters on our palms!

So, being Hadzabe is definitely not an easy life.

The Hadzabe are endangered with an estimate of only 2,000 representatives and are the only tribe that has stayed true to nature, since their community is very much similar to the first hunter-gatherer societies!

All safaris and other programes allow you to add this memorable experience to your itinerary, to read more about the cultural tours to tribes read more on our website: http://www.shadowsofafrica.com/itineraries/cultural-safari
